    Check and amend mistakes

I have gone over the design of my website and made the desired changes, as well as amended any spelling or design mistakes I found.

I have made sure I am happy with the design, layout, and all media elements are working. I have also asked for second opinions and constructive criticism.

The process of creating my web page

The process of creating my website was quite tedious, I struggled to pick up the finer mechanics of Wix and it made it difficult to make substantial progress when starting my design. I was also struggling to incorporate a background graphic, which I had to end up scrapping completely and decided a plain black background was easier to read.

Once I became comfortable using Wix properly I started to make drastic changes to the template and incorporate image links, a music player, and a shop feature. These interactive aspects of my website allowed me to create a more immersive viewing experience which I enjoyed. The challenge this presented was keeping my artists information confined to two pages. I circumnavigated this problem by having a busy section-based home page that allowed me to present aspects I wanted on the website without needing to give them their own page.

I decided to keep to two pages for my website, the main “Home” page and a “Releases” page. This allowed me to have a page dedicated to general information and a page where I could flesh out the band’s image. I used the Releases page to showcase two prior “albums” from Celestial Sadness. In addition to making the band feel more legitimate, it adds breadth to the viewing experience of the website.

Making sure the website was easy to navigate required some additions to what I had planned, notably the reintroduction of the navigation bar and where I wanted to put it. I had decided to get rid of it shortly after starting my website as I liked the idea of being greeted by a page-width image and having a header took away from that. However, it became more apparent as I continued to edit that the website would be hard to navigate, so I decided to put it under the main Home page image.

Another thing I wanted to change was the main image only being shown on the home screen, making any other pages feel incomplete. I solved this issue by incorporating a less intrusive image at the top of my second page.
